Getting to know microtex and micro cotton
What is the difference between microtex, micro cotton, and Tencel? Learn how each fabric behaves so you can pick the most comfortable sheet for your room.
Fabric names can be confusing when you shop for sheets. Here is a short guide to the fabrics we use across the Internal Group brands.
Microtex
Microtex is a fabric made from very fine microfibers. It is light, soft, wrinkle-resistant, and dries quickly after washing. Because it is affordable, we use microtex in many collections, including Aloha Max, Illusions, and Internal.
What does disperse mean?
Disperse is a way of dyeing and printing fabric. The color goes into the fiber itself, so the print stays sharp and does not fade easily, even with frequent washing.
Micro cotton
Micro cotton uses even finer fibers, so it feels softer and cooler on the skin. Lady Rose Prime uses ultra-fine micro cotton disperse for a thicker, neater finish.
Tencel
Tencel Lyocell is a wood-based fiber that absorbs moisture well and feels cool. We use it in the Tenzo brand, a good choice if you tend to feel warm at night.
Which one suits you?
- For everyday use on a budget: microtex.
- For a main bedroom that should feel extra soft: micro cotton.
- If you sweat easily or live somewhere hot: Tencel.
